MR. W. S. B. MATHEWS HAS JUST PUBLISHED
a “Teacher’s Manual of Mason’s System of Pianoforte Technics,” in which he explains the rationale of the system, the advisable manners of combining exercises for daily practice, the method of practice for specific results, and a variety of other matter of great value to all piano-teachers. This manual does not take the place of the four volumes of “Touch and Technic,” and, in fact, cannot be used without them. It brings together the reasons and principles governing Mason’s methods, such as a text-book for pupils would not properly contain. Mr. Mathews’s work has been approved by Dr. Mason, who has ordered a supply for the use of his own students and assistants. The price is $1.50 per copy. Music Magazine Publishing Company, Auditorium Tower, Chicago.
