THE KANSAS CITY TIMES GIVES AN ENTIRE
column and brings a “line” cut of Julius P. Witmark, the popular and successful baritone, who stopped in Kansas City, en route from San Francisco to New York. In the interview was outlined the circumstances which inspired the entry of the three “Witmark Boys” into the music-publishing business, and its apotheosis of the present day.

THE SUPERB COLLECTIONS OF MODERN OR-
gan-music recently published in two volumes entitled “The Church Organist,” and compiled by Charles H. Morse, Organist and Choirmaster of Plymouth Church, Brooklyn, N. Y., have readily won the highest encomiums from all classes of players solely on the solid merit of the various selections they contain and their perfect adaptability to the requirements of the present advanced knowledge and taste in organ-music. They amply supply the object of their publication.

Among the choicer lot of Easter Anthems that have just appeared are “Come, Ye Faithful,” by P. A. Schnecker; “Awake, Glad Soul,” A. W. Lansing; also “The Day of Resurrection” and “Welcome, Happy Morning,” by the same author. Other fine anthems are “Christ, the Lord, is Risen Again,” by Alonzo Stone; “This is the Day,” F. H. Brackett; and “The Lord, our Saviour’s Risen,” with violin obligato, William J. Soulee.

Of the above, as well as of a newly-published list of Easter Carols and especially new Easter Songs by noted composers, particulars are given in a special advertisement of the White-Smith Music Publishing Company on another page of the present issue of The Etude.
